Doxy-PEP: The end of STIs?

Doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (Doxy-PEP) has been shown to be effective in preventing key bacterial STIs among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men who have experienced multiple STIs. However, there remain several unanswered questions around potential long term effects of Doxy-PEP including antimicrobial resistance and effects on the microbiome.

Join us to hear from Dr Vincent Cornelisse, Senior Staff Specialist in Sexual Health Medicine (Clinic 16 RNSH and RPAH) and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at The Kirby Institute, UNSW regarding this fascinating topic.

Dr Vincent Cornelisse BSc(Hons), MBBS, FRACGP, FAChSHM, FAChAM, PhD

Vincent is a medical specialist in sexual health and addiction. His research focuses on sexual health epidemiology, in order to develop more effective public health interventions to reduce transmission of HIV and other sexually transmissible infections.
